With this combination we aim for healthy, medium-sized dogs with good conformation for working and endurance, well in breed standard. We aim for lots of speed and stable, high drive/will to find; high passion and natural ability in water, field and tracking; natural and passionate retrieving ability; lots of passion for predators and other game - in other words, high drive versatile hunting dogs that can be used in all aspects of versatile hunting (including driven), that have above average speed and range on field with excellent bird handling skills. We aim for durable, strong and stable mentality paired with outstanding will to please/trainability. We aim for socially (people and dogs) open, stable and easy dogs, who are calm at home and good family members.
Both parents of this combination are versatile hunting dogs used a lot on different game, including predators. Both are socially very stable, easy and friendly - excellent, relaxed family dogs that love children. Both get along with dogs they do not know. Lucky complements Irma's quick, strong and more explosive drive really well with his calm, stable but equally high and uncompromising working mentality. Both have wide, independent search with relentless will to find and run with a higher head. Both have strong retrieving will, love for water and excellent ability to find game. Both are very uncomplicated, calm dogs in everyday life
Lucky is a very strong practical hunting dog, used actively on various small game. He's a dog with an uncompromising working mentality and effective, wide, independent search. He literally will not quit until he has found game. LuckyLucky naturally has very good nerves in game situations. Stable mentality all over - ok with all people, loves kids and is uninterested in other dogs, even aggressive males. He will not get pulled into a fight! Living with two younger intact weimaraner males is no problem, he's focus is on work, where he never leaves nothing half-finished. At 10 years of age he is still in remarkably good condition for a weim male, running 30km last season's opening day at 9 years of age.
Lucky has a first and a second prize from finnish open class field trials, with first two trial starts in two consecutive days (with an average grade of 4,5 for "hunting will"), fullfilling the requirements to be on the official stud list.
He has those careless, bold water entries I love in my own dogs, loves to retrieve anything - including cold (and of course warm) fox plus kills hedgehogs with passion, uncaring about hurting himself.
Lucky was nominated "Weimaraner of the year" award in Finland with highest field trial points in 2017 and quite several people still think he is one of the very best males in Finland.
Lucky is a worthy son of Snaiper's Luke - a relentless high drive hunting dog that I got to see working numerous times at field trials. Luke has an impressive track record, being the first Weimaraner in the world to become International Hunting Champion and the first to enter Europa Cup in the Swedish national team of Continental Pointers. Luke is also one of only two Weimaraners in the world to hold the title C.I.B.T (combined title of both international Working and Beauty champion). Luke was also the winner of an international Anton Görgl's Jubilee VGP in Austria, I-st prize with 404 points and CACIT - a remarkable accomplishment for a non-german dog participating!
Lucky's mom "Tyyne" is a lovely longhair, that also has a I-st prize from open class field trials in Finland - no easy feat for a longhair and there's only a handful on longhairs in Nordic countries, that have accomplished this!
Irma is a very sweet, social dog, that is full of speed and passion when working, yet calm, uncomplicated and easy when not - overall a true joy to live and work with. More about her on her own pages, under "The Dogs"!
Also Irma’s pedigree is full of field champions and high-drive dogs - starting with Irma's dad Beniamino z Brdskych Boru, who was an exceptional working dog, Irma’s grandmom Säde, who is the only weimaraner so far, to hold both Swedish and Finnish Field Trial Champion titles (in Finland, weimaraners are measured up agains german pointers), Irma’s talented granddad Hunor is a full brother to NFC/NAFC/FC/AFC Southpaw's Ottercreek Bailee Belle, who won both the Amateur and Open stakes in the WCA's national championship in 2016, only one of a few dogs to do so the same year.
Further back we have some very famous americans - Windancers Jota V. Reiteralm, Gould's Jus Git R Done v Zdon and Westend's Li'l Sage Rider plus Classic Dream's Tic Tac Toe (our Tiki) and Wellieson Eazac that are among a handful of most remarkable nordic field champions, and not forgetting Arto vom Nollenwald from Switzerland, that was also one hell of a remarkable and famous hunting/working dog (besides being an aid for the professional hunter’s daily life, he was also an internationally recognized catastrophy rescue dog, that was flewn around the world to help people).
